Email — overview
The Email add-on lets you send transactional emails directly from any record — Person, Organisation, Placement, Order, Incident — without leaving FlecBase. Attach files, pick from a tenant library, fire templates with one click, or bulk-send to every worker on a placement this week. Every send writes a full audit row to your communications log.
Different from the Bulk Mailer (which is a 1→many newsletter blast filtered by Person type), Email is the one-to-one, contextual path: an operator on a record clicks "Send email", composes (free or from a template), attaches files (uploaded, from the record, or from the Standard Documents library), and sends. The reply lands in their own inbox.
Six surfaces ship with the add-on. The composer handles free-compose. Standard Documents are pre-approved tenant or group files (welcome packs, contracts, brochures). Templates carry merge placeholders that resolve to the record's data. One-click sends skip the composer entirely. Bulk-this-week dispatches a template to every worker active in a date window.
From + Reply-To = sender's own email. Replies bypass FlecBase entirely and land in the operator's inbox. (Two-way reply capture is a planned follow-up.) Templates are force-seeded on every enabled tenant — eight canonical system names ready to use and customise (PLACEMENT_NOTICE, ORDER_DISPATCH, INCIDENT_UPDATE, EVENT_INVITE, PERSON_INTRO, ORG_INTRO, PLACEMENT_END_REMINDER, ORDER_UPDATE).
